How The World Works

We have started our new unit of inquiry. Already we have conducted some experiements and taken a look at what 'Scientific principles' means!

Does anyone know what actually happens to corn kernels when you heat them? We observed that they change a lot but we don't really know why? Any ideas?

  1. I think the corn kernels from the popcorn experiment changed like this, the kernels get heated up and the plant inside the kernel grows
and then the plant breaks/pops through the kernel and it makes a poping sound.

If there are three 3rd grade classes going on a school trip and each class has 22 students in it. How many busses would be needed if each bus holds 22 people?
