Dear Parents,
We have been working in our Tamburin 1 textbook and workbook and are enjoying the games, songs and activities which are part of the book. Please have your children use the games available online www.hueber.de/tamburin and play either Memory or Hangman. We have been learning about each other by talking about our families and the activities we enjoy. Also the students have made posters that tell about themselves. Please come and see them displayed in the third grade hallway.
We focused on:
· Personal pronouns: ich, du, sie, er
· Verbs used in speaking and writing: Wir spielen Würfeln. Wir essen. Sie singt gern.
· Writing about ourselves: Ich komme aus Japan. Ich spiele gern Fußball.
· Speaking about family: Mein Vater spielt gern Tennis. Meine Schwester schwimmt gern. Mein Bruder malt gern.
Additional activities:
· Bingo game with numbers and verbs
· Total Physical Response (learning new vocabulary through actions)
· Partner games using pictures showing various actions
· Songs can be found in the Tamburin 1 textbook.
Your child/children may want to sing them for you.
Just as a reminder: The students will bring their textbook and workbook home occasionally to let you see what they have been doing in German. Please return the books for the next school day. You can contact me at any time at
